Join us on the first movie night of Intal Middle East, with lots of food & food for thought. "We Are Many" tells the story of the biggest demonstration in human history, against the Iraq war in 2003. After the movie, we'll discuss what remains of this legacy in 2017, and which challenges the anti-war movement faces today.

Rejoins-nous sur cette première soirée cinéma de Intal Middle East, avec un repas délicieux et plein de matière à reflexion. "We Are Many" raconte l'histoire de la plus grand manifestation de l'histoire, celle contre la guerre en Iraq de 2003. Après le film, nous discutons les experiences belges de cette manifestation, et l'actualité du mouvement de paix en 2017.

Welkom op de eerste filmavond van Intal Middle East, met lekker eten en stof tot nadenken. Deze documentaire vertelt het verhaal van de grootste betoging uit de geschiedenis, tegen de oorlog in Irak van 2003. Na de film bediscussiëren we wat er overblijft van deze massabeweging in 2017, en welke uitdagingen deze heeft.

**** Film synopsis ****
We Are Many is the story of the biggest protest in history, and how it changed the world. On February 15th, 2003, over 15 million people marched through the streets of 800 cities around the world to try to avert the war against Iraq. Some estimated the numbers were as high as 30 million people.

This is the inspiring story of how a handful of activists created a global movement on a completely unprecedented scale, and how that movement left an unexpected impact on the social and political landscape.

EN: Intal Middle East+ is the local group of Intal Brussels working on the region Greater Middle East, from Morocco to Pakistan.
Together we organize actions, conferences, lectures and other activities, in solidarity with the peoples of this region that stand up for their right to sovereignty, health and other basic right.

NL: Intal Middle East+ is de lokale themagroep van Intal Brussel rond de regio Groot Midden Oosten, zijnde van Marokko tot en met Pakistan.
Samen werken we acties, conferenties, lezingen en andere activiteiten uit, in solidariteit met de volkeren uit deze regio die opkomen voor hun recht op soevereiniteit, gezondheid, en andere basisrechten.

FR: Intal Middle East+ est le groupe local d'intal Bruxelles autour de la région du Grand Moyen Orient, depuis le Maroc jusqu'au Pakistan.
Nous menons des actions, nous organisons des conférences, des lectures, en solidarité avec les peuples de cette région qui se lèvent pour leur souveraineté, leur santé et leurs autres droits fondamentaux.
